It can feel awkward to discuss STD testing, but it's important. Tests for Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STDs)
If you or your sex partner has unprotected sex with anyone else, you are at risk for a sexually transmitted
disease, or STD. STDs may be detected during a physical exam through Pap smears and in tests of blood, urine,
and genital and anal secretions.
Suspected Pregnancy or Miscarriage:
Miscarriage is the loss of a pregnancy.
The most common sign of a miscarriage is vaginal bleeding, which can vary from light red or brown spotting
to heavy bleeding. Miscarriage is a term used for a pregnancy that ends on its own.
Complications of pregnancy are health problems that occur during pregnancy. They can involve the mother's
health, the baby's health, or both. Some women have health problems before they become pregnant that could
lead to complications.
Some of the more common complications of pregnancy are miscarriage, ectopic pregnancy, and bleeding.
Pain during Sex:
Pain during intercourse (dyspareunia) is pain or discomfort in a woman's labial, vaginal, or pelvic areas
during or immediately following sexual intercourse. The medical term for painful intercourse is dyspareunia
(dis-puh-ROO-nee-uh), defined as persistent or recurrent genital pain that occurs just before, during
or after intercourse.
Pain or Other symptoms associated with urination:
A range of problems can lead to inflammation or irritation of the urinary tract or genital area, leading to
the symptom of painful urination. ... Stones in the urinary tract. Irritation of the urethra from sexual
activity. Interstitial cystitis, a condition caused by bladder inflammation
Causes of infertility can generally be classified within the following areas: the female eggs and endocrine
system, the female pelvic cavity (tubal damage, endometriosis, uterine problems, fibroids), or semen quality
and the male reproductive tract, or timing and technique of sexual relations
